Overview

Please note the agenda and session times may be updated as planning evolves.

The Cardiovascular Spring Symposium is North Mississippi Medical Center's annual continuing medical education (CME) event dedicated to advancing cardiovascular knowledge and clinical practice. Each year, the symposium focuses on key areas within Cardiology and brings together physicians, advanced practice providers, and other providers who care for cardiac patients for an engaging, practice-focused educational experience.

Content typically centers on updating providers on new therapies and technologies and advancing management of conditions such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, hypertension, arrhythmias, and valvular disease. Sessions also emphasize recognizing and responding to cardiovascular emergencies. With a strong focus on practical application, the symposium helps providers translate the latest research and guidelines into strategies that enhance patient-centered cardiovascular care.

NMHS CME Program will award MOC credit for ABIM Medical Knowledge (Part II) for 2026 Spring Cardiovascular Symposium. Participants will earn 11.25 points in the Medical Knowledge Category.

To claim MOC Credit, participants must:

  • Complete the course evaluation and quiz within 30 days of end of the activity.

  • Ensure their CME profile includes accurate date of birth and board ID number.

Upon successful completion, NMHS CME Program will report your participation and MOC points to ABIM through ACCME’s PARS system. The following information will be shared: name, date of birth, board ID, and completion status.

ACCME Objectives
  1. Distinguish care of the patient with heart disease in the primary care setting during the periods of time prior to and after cardiac specialty care to include post procedural considerations.
  2. Identify the appropriate management of patients with cardiovascular conditions encountered in the primary care setting by analyzing and discussing multiple case studies.
  3. Recognize current guidelines and best practice for the management of patients with cardiac disease presenting to the primary care setting.
  4. Identify an intent to change practice by following current recommended guidelines in the screening, referral and management of cardiac patients.

ANCC Learning Outcomes
  1. By the end of the conference, learners will report through the evaluation knowledge gained in accurately distinguishing appropriate care for patients with heart disease in a primary care setting before and after cardiac specialty intervention, including post-procedural care.
  2. Learners will report through the evaluation an intent to incorporate into practice current guidelines and best practice for the management of patients with cardiac disease presenting to the primary care setting, as evidence by following current recommended screening, referrral, and management of cardiac patients.
