ACCME Objectives
  1. Describe how EAP's professional assistance and resources are designed to help employees address difficulties related to emotional concerns, relationships, substance abuse, as well as many others concerns, and thus allows the employee to better focus on improving patient care at all levels.
  2. Articulate how EAP's benefits the healthcare industry in maintaining a productive and safe environment for employees and patients. 
  3. Identify the services offered by EAP's and how directing employees, with a need, to seek out EAP assistance must remain an ethical priority.

ANCC Learning Outcomes
  1. All learners will self-report through the post-evaluation of knowledge gained in resources available to employees through EAP and ways this may improve patient care by maintaining a productive and safe environment for employees and patients.
  2. All learners will self-report through the post-evaluation an agreeance on the ethical priority to direct employees, with a need, to seek out EAP assistance.

Accreditation

The Mississippi State Medical Association is a member of the Southern States CME Collaborative (SSCC).  North Mississippi Medical Center is accredited by the SSCC to provide continuing medical education for physicians.  NMMC designates this Live Activity course for a maximum of 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

NMMC is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Mississippi Nurses Foundation, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.  This activity has been awarded for 1.00 contact hour(s). CE#00192-EDI-2301.
