Overview

The Spring Cardiovascular Symposium is designed to bridge knowledge gaps and develop competence in cardiovascular disease management. Designed specifically for physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and physician assistants, this two-day conference will highlight topics that review some of the latest issues, new treatments, and technologies in caring for the cardiac patient.


ACCME Objectives
  1. Distinguish care of the patient with heart disease in the primary care setting during the periods of time prior to and after cardiac specialty care to include post procedural considerations.
  2. Identify the appropriate management of patients with cardiovascular conditions encountered in the primary care setting by analyzing and discussing multiple case studies.
  3. Recognize current guidelines and best practice for the management of patients with cardiac disease presenting to the primary care setting.
  4. Identify an intent to change practice by following current recommended guidelines in the screening, referral and management of cardiac patients.

ANCC Learning Outcomes
  1. Identify an intent to change practice by applying current guidelines in the management of cardiac patients in their individual practice.
  2. Self-report a recognition of current guidelines and best practice for the management of patients with cardiac disease presenting to the primary care setting.
  3. Self-report an interpretation in the care of the patient with heart disease during the periods of time prior to and after cardiac specialty care to include post procedural considerations.
  4. Correctly identify appropriate management of patients with cardiovascular conditions encountered in the primary care setting by analyzing and discussing multiple case studies.

Accreditation

The Mississippi State Medical Association is a member of the Southern States CME Collaborative (SSCC).  North Mississippi Medical Center is accredited by the SSCC to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
