Overview
NMHS cares for even the smallest of patients. The NMHS Pediatric Symposium will have speakers discuss a variety of conditions that effect the pediatric population. These topics include cardiac, diabetes, pulmonology, and cerebral edema.

ACCME Objectives
  1. Identify pediatric specific disease processes.
  2. Discuss the application of evidence-based guidelines in the management of the pediatric patient.
  3. Differentiate common pediatric arrhythmias presenting in inpatient pediatric care.
  4. Apply in practice common treatments for arrhythmias in inpatient pediatric care.

ANCC Learning Outcomes
  1. Healthcare providers will self-report an increased knowledge in recognition of common pediatric arrythmias in inpatient pediatric care.
  2. Healthcare providers will self-report an intention to apply in practice common treatments for arrythmias in inpatient pediatric care.
  3. At the end of the symposium, healthcare providers will have the knowledge to adequately treat/stabilize a pediatric patient using evidence-baed guidelines prior to transferring to the pediatric unit, as evidence by 75% satisfaction rate on the post evaluation on knowledge received.
  4. At the end of the symposium, the learner will have increased knowledge in the basics of diabetes treatment for pediatric patients in the inpatient setting.

Accreditation

The Mississippi State Medical Association is a member of the Southern States CME Collaborative (SSCC).  North Mississippi Medical Center is accredited by the SSCC to provide continuing medical education for physicians. 

NMMC designates this Live Activity course for a maximum of 3.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

NMMC is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Mississippi Nurses Foundation, Inc., an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Centers Commission on Accreditation.  This activity has been awarded for 3.00 contact hour(s). CE#00192-EDI-2202.
